Lovely recording of the Tchaikovsky, which I may well have to spin later:

You could have added Massenet as well.

Or Leoncavallo. In his Boheme, it's Acts 1 and 4 which are set on Christmas Eve.

So the Respighi wouldn't be The Adoration of the Magi?

I have a couple of recordings (of Leoncavallo's Boheme). I got so intrigued by it when ENO did it in 2000 that I went to every single performance in the run, recorded the broadcast, bought the score and a couple of CD versions, and can sing along with the entire show in English or Italian (Not sure any of the recordings are quite complete. Cuts seem customary - and never in the same places). Sorry. Back on topic.
