Somebody help - I never could stand suspense.  I've got to take the child to the dentist at 11.30 and I'm sitting here in a miserable heap buried under a pile of New Grove Dictionaries.  Cry

Ok I'm scraping the barrel here but -

No joy on any of those, Milly. I will reveal that the Adams is operatic, however, as could be the Tippett.

Curiouser and curiouser. It's not an opera but A Child of Our Time has been given an operatic treatment recently. Could it be that?

Adams  -  El Nino?

Debussy  -  L'enfant prodigue?

Norgard           Wie ein Kind (Like a Child) ?

Is the connection children then?

I think between us we may well be there, Milly

Let's see what Il Grande Inquisitor has to say. I've got the champers on ice in anticipation.

What a team George! Kiss Kiss Kiss

That's if we're correct of course.

I wish he'd hurry up!  Roll Eyes

It's a good stab, but it's just too... I don't know, 'straightforward' for the fiendish IGI. I could be wrong, but I think there may be tears before bedtime.  Sad

Sob.   Sad Sad Sad

(If IGI lives in Scotland he may have no electricity so can't get back to us to put us out of our misery).

I was rather proud of my Greek connection.  Sad

Good evening, all!! Staff meeting over, the Strogonoff's merrily cooking away, clarinet practised, and I've come to check on progress, to find you champing at the bit awaiting the verdict. Martle's correct...all too straightforward, I'm afraid!
Milly, your Greek woodland characters aren't a million miles away. George, the Tippett could be operatic on the basis that I think there are two possible correct entries - one operatically linked, one not.  Wink

I could add another composer, but I fear he may not be very welcome... Smiley

Hate is a terrible thing!  Wink  (I wish I didn't enjoy doing these so much  Smiley)

It must be Plan B George.   I'll post when I work out what that is, but it will be much later because it's time for reading/bath/bedtime for little 'un and then loads to do in the house which I just can't put off any longer.

Feel free to start without me....

No joy with any of those, I'm afraid, Milly. Time to unveil the fifth link in the puzzle...

Tippett – King Priam
Debussy
Nørgård
Adams
Paganini
