Tommo, I couldn’t discover any nightingales in the NMC thread here, although it may well have featured on the old R3 boards; there’s no search option, frustratingly, and it may have appeared before I joined in the fun!
Anyway, here’s a new one…five works, the titles of which should lead you to another composition by a mystery composer.
Your five composers are:
Debussy Verdi Smetana John Williams Puccini

Well, a random guess time...
Debussy La Mer Verdi Aida Smetana Ma Vlast John Williams Star Wars Puccini Mme Utterly-Butterly
Heaven knows what the connection is, but I think it has something to do with our Ada being a bit of a mare.

Well, Tommo - two semi-hits there with the Smetana and the Williams, although you'll need to be a bit more specific...

Another fairly random attempt, based on your "slightly more specific" hint...
If "slightly more specific" than "Ma Vlast" was "From Bohemia's Woods and Fields" then the Puccini could plausibly be La boheme.

Yes to the Smetana, Ruth, but not La Bohème, I'm afraid.

No to the Debussy, rm. You're looking for a composition for piano.

But the John Williams could be 'The Asteroid Field' from Star Wars? Tommo

Good try, but no. It's not a common word link, but a word (or more) in each title should point you to a sixth composition by a different composer.

Ah yes, I remember now.
So, Star wars is right but not specific enough..... Rebel Fanfare? Imperial March?
How those go with Field as part of another title is utterly unclear..... so probably wrong then.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)
