It was staring at the list at 391 that did it for me, plus Mahlerei's Schoolmaster.

When did Miracle in the Gorbals appear by the way?

In the quiz - Dan's #388

On the stage - 1944, choreography by Robert Helpmann, conducted by Constant Lambert

That was mighty impressive, IGI. So, here's another tortuous one which will be accumulative:

Auber
Captain Beefheart
Cowell
Haydn
Lassus
Satie
Zappa

Let's have a first attempt, Ian...something dreamlike?

Auber - Rêve d’amour
Captain Beefheart – ‘Neon Meate Dream of a Octafish’ is a tribute to Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band
Cowell – The Dream Bridge
Haydn – String Quartet No. 40 in F major ‘Dream’
Lassus - tba
Satie - ‘Le poisson rêveur’
Zappa – The Girl’s Dream

Sorry - not a single one of those is right.

I should point out that this is multi-lingual (and possibly multi-cultural Wink ) and punning.

You are VERY clever. The Zappa is not correct, though.

(remind me not to give clues in the future)

OK - full list:
Auber
Bach
Captain Beefheart
Cowell
Billy Harper
Haydn
Lassus
Ned Rorem
Satie
Schubert
Telemann
Zappa

Now, I want a complete correct list before I say any more Wink

Lassus The Flea

Mmmm... I was trying to speculate on the other composers and came up with:

Ruth Seeger – Rat Riddles
Daniel Grabois – Zen Monkey
Rimsky-Korsakov – The Golden Cockerel (Rooster)

...back to the drawing board!

(in the meantime I'll have to think up a more devious one and definitely give no clues (I did give Ollie privately a tiny clue to my last puzzle) and he got that one, whilst giving a clue seems to have helped a bit too much here!)
