Greek it isn't.

It's basically a single word although it's in different languages and different forms. And in one of them it's broken up.

Time?

Harvey - Calling Across Time?
Britten -  A Time There Was?

Returning to this puzzle, I'm assuming that the single word is in English for both the Harvey and the Britten, so...

Harvey - Madonna of Winter and Spring
Britten - Winter Words

The single word is indeed in English - although the bulk of the piece in fact is not in Britten's case. But it's not Winter. Or Madonna.

Henri Tomasi - Noces de Cendres
Jonathan Harvey – Ashes Dance Back
Benjamin Britten – The Ash Grove

That's a beautiful answer and I wish it had been the one I was thinking of!

I'll add Johnny Mandel to the list.

Iannis Xenakis
Henri Tomasi
Jonathan Harvey
Benjamin Britten
Johnny Mandel

...it's not Spring either. Still too concrete. I suggest going more abstract.

Britten - Les illuminations
Harvey - Death of Light/Light of Death
Xenakis - Persépolis (subtitled 'We Bear the Light of the Earth')
Tomasi - Retour à Tipasa which includes the lines 'Oh light! Oh vibrant light!'

I think I've previously speculated on the possibility of providing four randomly chosen names and letting the assembled Members find a link for themselves which would in any case be far more interesting than one I might come up with.

You're very warm with one of those titles although what you'll need isn't the title of the whole work.

...and don't forget Mr Mandel!

I cannot figure out which of IGI's titles is "warm"  Huh  I can't find anything to link to M.A.S.H. !!  The best I can come up with is

Iannis Xenakis - Trois Poems
Henri Tomasi - Symphony de Tiers Monde
Jonathan Harvey - Three Love Scapes
Benjamin Britten - Wealdon Trio
Johnny Mandel - A letter to Three Wives

You keep coming up with connections that are better than mine were!

OK, some more clues.

The Xenakis title isn't in French.

IGI had the title (and composer) of a complete work from which I took a movement title.

And the Mandel link isn't MASH.

Hmm. Other than 'Suicide is Painless' I guess Mandel's most famous song is 'The Shadow of your Smile'. Anything there? Britten - being beauteous... Harvey - Smiling Immortal... I'm rambling here...

Another guess:  Huh

Iannis Xenakis - Sea Nymphs
Henri Tomasi - La Silence de la Mer
Jonathan Harvey - Stir-Less Sea
Benjamin Britten - Seascapes
Johnny Mandel - The Shining Sea or The Sailor who fell from grace with the Sea

I see Martle's on the case so I will leave it to him now!!   Cheesy
