Books seem to differ on the matter. The other name he used was Anton Vodorinski, but there seems to be confustion over which was his real name and which the pseudonym. (See Chambers Biographical Dictionary.)

Is it depiction of seasons?
I know Tchaikovsky wrote them and I looked at Fanny Mendelssohn and she wrote them too.
