Shocked blimey! didn't expect compliments!  Smiley

...to the great envy of London visitors!

as always when it comes to escaping to the wilderness from a place* like Croydon, it feels like a big expedition, no matter how easy it in fact is. no possibility of taking things for granted!

I've had such experiences there though - from cobbling together exorbitant countrified bus fares (made up mostly of 5p's in the end - the driver looked less than pleased!) to going for an accidental mud bath because of hurrying to avoid being left up there in the dark.... *sigh* Grin

*to use one of the more suitable possibilities of word

About that splodge: is it actually visible on the lens?

Yes it is, Ron (and on the mini screen as well, come to think of it). I have a suspicion it's part of a fly...

Read this question carefully, and please don't misconstrue... Wink

So what exactly are you rubbing it with? Some sort of fabric?

I used the pad and solution from a "CD cleaner kit" which says it can also be used for camera lenses. I've no idea what the pad is made of, but it's certainly not fabric.

I'd be very careful with that, e: I'd certainly not risk it on my lenses. Most camera shops sell the Pentax cleaning cloth, a thin fine handkerchief-sized square of polyester micro-fibre fabric which only needs the condensation from breath to help it do its job, and most importantly can be washed in soap and water (not detergent) as often as you like, which saves you putting what you removed from the lens last time back on the next.

Just to double check: this mark can be seen from the front of the camera, i.e. on the front of the lens, on the left as you're looking at it?...

The mark's on the right from the front.  (therefore on the left when taking a picture?)

I'll try and get that cloth, then  Smiley. I believe the nearest camera shop is closing down soon though... now where are those skates.

On your left if you hold it with the front facing you...(no wonder I had such problems with choerography).

Some opticians sell the same cloth too.

Grin right with the front facing you.
