Tschornij Aist (something-or-other stork).

It's a Moldovan brandy.

Mmmmmm.

Oooh, give us a sip, love! Ahem. I mean that it sounds like a fascinating and intriguing choice of beverage from someone who clearly has a highly developed and discerning palate.

Well, my memory of Russian tells me that Tschornij surely must mean "Black"

A black stork is a sight indeed, though we tend to call them egrets. Which isn't very ornithological at all.

I am drinking Kalter Kaffee again.

Lucozade first then tea.   That should give me enough caffeine to get me downstairs at least.

Good try, Mort! But I'm afraid the bottle was finished. From the Russian shop in Green Lanes . . .

What, me? A noted composer and university lecturer? In a Welsh pub, with a laptop and a pint of Reverend James? On a weekday lunchtime??
