If I could have chosen my own name I would be Eleanor....it sounds so graceful.

Jan,

Eleanor has always been on my `If-only-I-could-have-been-called-that` list. Failing that I would have been happy with Naomi. It makes me think of deep  wine coloured velvet. My mother wanted to call me Marisa but, as is often the case, my father got to register my birth and named me after a, then, famous female film star. Sigh.

I agree about Eleanor.

Meant to comment on Janthefan's Erminilda - wonderful, though not a name I would want to have myself!

Greta, you've always been one of my favourites!  Wink

From today's Guardian:

Mardy Fish, Misty Hyman and Gregor ****a.

All sporting personalities, apparently.

But as far as composers are concerned, I've always admired Nepomuk: Hummel's middle name.
