The voice in my head doesn't sound anything like the one that I sing with. I must have Emma Kirkby's head.
(And while we're at it, Viviane Durante is walking around on my legs!)

I feel like I'm building up towards something I just don't know what it is. Is it a literary effort? It certainly isn't an opera. It could just be some kind of waffle film script. Maybe I should just do the washing up and then go to bed. Tomorrow is another day, but then aren't they all?

I love you, Porgy
I love you, Porgy Don't let him take me Don't let him handle me And drive me mad If you can keep me I want to stay with you forever And I'll be glad I love you, Porgy Don't let him take me Don't let him handle me With his hot hands If you can keep me I want to stay with you forever I like my man Someday I know he's coming Back to call me He's gonna handle me And hold me so It's going to be like dying, Porgy When he calls me But when he comes, I know I'll have to go.
Ira Gershwin, DuBose Heyward as sung by Nina Simone

[static] VOICE 1 [in room]: No... No it can't be... VOICE 2 [on radio]: Sir, reports coming in. It's just as we feared. It's the BIZARRE MELOTRON. It's back. VOICE 1: Damn. Damn you. [over the radio, the strains of You'll Never Walk Alone can be heard]

The second voice tells us that we are incapacitated under a bridge in Dublin. This is patently false. From my desk I can see the may blossoms hanging over the river and I can hear the drunken chattering of the students falling into the river. The second voice tells me that it may rain later. This is patently false. We cautiously suggest that the second voice may belong to a fantasist. The first voice informs me that this is patently false. I am perplexed but you are not. The first voice has previously restricted itself to monosyllabic utterances concerning the state of the soul belonging to Charlemagne Palestine. Perhaps the second voice is that of Charlemagne Palestine. The third voice has started again. The complete works of Chekov may be worthy fare, but when translated into Finnish and delivered in a monotone, they tend to pall rather quickly. The second voice tells us that Chekov is with us under the bridge. The first voice tells us that Charlemagne Palestine is cold. The fourth voice has been silent the whole time. You tell me that there is no fourth voice. This is patently false.

I-audaciter-re ad eundum quo nemo ante iit I think I prefer 'iraudacitere'. It looks like a real word, smells like a real word but is almost entirely incomprehensible.
