Flemish is to all intents and purposes identical to Dutch, as far as I understand, and it's differently named for political rather than linguistic reasons.

So I suppose it's 'Dank u wel'.

(Time2 and I have a joke which goes 'Dank u wel' -- 'Bitt u wel'. I'm still not sure how you really say 'You're welcome' in Dutch.)

Ciao Don-B.  Have a great time.  Kiss

What a great Prom tonight.  Mahler is a bit vast for me, I find him challenging to listen to for the full length of time required usually, but watching that huge orchestra was very enjoyable.  I particularly loved the percussion.  Did you notice that little Chinese girl swinging that big wooden mallet right over her head on to the block? (Yes I'm sure it will be a proper instrument, with a proper name, but I don't know what it is!)

After that, I watched Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and would have stayed up for Have I Got News for you, on now - but I'm really tired now.

Just in (well; have been browsing about the internet a bit) from Ian's concert over here in Dublin.  Was out in the pub for a bit after.  It was tremendously; I definitely got a lot from it.  Good afterdrinks also.

Thank you!  I much prefer "big wooden Mallet" - has more charisma somehow.  Wink

In the absence of any actual speakers of the language: 'you're welcome' is I believe 'alstublieft' or 'alsjeblieft' (formal and informal singular respectively - I've seen 'alsjullieblieft' for informal plural but I would use that with caution if at all). 'Dankjewel' would seem to be the informal 'thank you' by the way.

Sleep tasty, all...

Wat bedoel je met deze "afwezigheid"?
