Hi A,

Looks like I'm a night owl and an early bird here (this is due to the wireless laptop sitting on the dining table and broadband was left on, too easy access nowadays!)

Son is scrubbing football boots, no-one else has stirred. I'm listening to theJazz, or rather an ad for the Volkwagen Fox Roll Eyes

Morning.
I've been awake for a couple of hours but haven't got out of bed yet.
Back still sore but I suspect that I'll live even if I have to walk around like a man forty years my senior all day!

I have been awake for several hours and already put my cloths on the line and practiced a little. Now back to house duties. I am still up and down and this is why I have so many activities so early.
However, I am getting better like many people here. I can see it.

It is a beautiful morning with sun shining. Thank you Lord for this morning. Good morning every one.

Ollie finally creaks into action. And it's an hour later here than in Pommieland. And no I haven't dressed or showered but I have breakfasted. OK, to be strictly accurate I'm breakfasting.

Oh well, it's Sunday after all. Wink

Good morning.

I just went out into the garden to admire yesterday's handiwork and saw three large slugs feasting on a dead frog.

Would you care to tell us a bit more about the nature of this 'handiwork', Richard?  Shocked

I did mention it briefly yesterday, but it involved mowing the lawn, pulling a pile of pondweed out of the pond to stop it from strangling the waterlilies, cutting back some overgrown stuff from the path and a bit of general weeding, with an enthusiasm born of (a) never having had a garden before and (b) needing to take advantage of the no doubt momentary lack of rain.

That enough detail? (Maybe the frog was already too much.)

Good Morning.

The thing I like about Sundays is that you can be fairly certain no-one will ring the doorbell at dawn, as is the habit of various postal/delivery services. Many a time I have answered the door looking a bit like Cherie Blair the morning after the 1997 election Grin

I'm going to plant some pansies I bought yesterday, to replace the Impatiens which inexplicably died. Must find the copper tape to put round the pot to deter the slugs and snails.

I switched on Radio 3 this morning and got Marlene Dietrich singing "Paff, der Zauberdrachen"!!!

Wasn't that wonderful?  I was amazed, partly because I didn't realise the song was so old.  I turned over to R3 after Clive James on R4 which is a must listen and it's been great this morning.

Glorious day here and the sea is like a mill pond.  Today's bedding in the wash already.  I was ironing till 2 a.m. so I've made a resolution never to let a week's worth mount up ever again!

P.S.  Morning all   Grin

Good morning all!

I've been in school for nearly three hours now, clearing the decks ready for a new term...working my way through Mackerras' RLPO Beethoven cycle for company. It could be a long day!

Postal deliveries at dawn?! It's now extremely unusual to get any post before midday, other than last Sunday (yes, Sunday!) when Parcelforce appeared on the doorstep at 10 o'clock with some goodies from Amazon and co.

It's never letters - they don't come till midday here, either - but I have a lot of things delivered, because I prefer to shop by Internet for all sorts of things, and they're delivered by all sorts of couriers who come at all sorts of hours.

You mean I can't rely on a Parcelforce-free Sunday??? That's never happened to me - yet.

Yes, you wouldn't want to call him Puff in German...  Cheesy

Good morning, Richard. Does this mean that you have 'pond life'  in your garden, or are you a strictly contemporary man?

Oh, and On an Overgrown Path: evidently a Janacek enthusiast.  Smiley
