My friend bought a candle lamp in green color with small shade and white angels that look alive when candle is burning in charity shop.
She bought it on the day the window display was sold.
It is so cute. I admired the candle lamp.
I can not find such a cute candle lamp to show. This is not near as good as my friend's green candle lamp wish a small metal shade.

Mornin all. Not too bad that LB, although I dont like Brich's music, for some reason. Dont know why. Even that wonderful proms performance this year didn't do anything for me!!

Number 4 blade ...

Is THAT what those numbers are all about?! I never understood or dared to ask. I assumed it was some arcane male code that I had never been indoctrinated into, possibly stemming from the Army or National Service or something.

Is number 4 the normal thing to ask for, for normal unobtrusive people like me? Do the numbers go up or down for how much hair you have left afterwards or how much has been taken off? Like shoes or like eggs? And come to think of it, blades in what exactly?

I think that the numbers go in eighths of an inch.  As others have said, therefore 1 is the shortest, and 8 usually the longest they'll do with clippers.

Eighths of an inch it is indeed. One can also take the comb off and use the clippers au naturel. That would be a number 0 I suppose. My preferred cut once upon a time. Makes for a pretty severe effect though, especially when I was also swimming several kilometres a week.

Ah, those were the days.

I might even risk asking for a 5 next time and see what happens.
I wouldn't risk that all over. It's actually quite long for the back and sides, but probably rather short than you'd feel comfortable with on top. These days I generally go for a number 4 back and sides, but just cut with scissors on top.

For the record, this is a number 4 all over plus a couple of weeks' subsequent growth (so probably more or less equivalent to a number 5):

I did go for a Number 1 back and sides and Number 3 on top once, but it got bad reviews at home.

I was told on that occasion it is possible to cut 1/2 or1/4.  I've never had a clipper cut since.

Good morning.   I woke up early but Jonathan Swain got me instead of SMP - with the Thieving Magpie!  I'm not keen on Rossini at the best of times but first thing in the morning is definitely not good.  Sad

I am off to the dentist (not for breakfast).
After that I have to have two more appointments (I don't have to, but it is better, he said).
What are you going to have in McDonalds for breakfast?

Morning all, I've been awake for ages Sad

But I haven't been idle, I've been sitting in bed using the laptop and I've found the cause of the sound controls not working properly on it. I discovered the reason from a post in the Ubuntu Forums (Ubuntu is the operating system which I have on the laptop). So I've just made my first post there to thank the poster. You can have a lot done if you wake up early.
I discovered it too. I even can have most of my practice done (in my head before 7 and on the piano after).
At least you were able to fix something you would not if you were sleeping.

Very true t-p, but I usually do most of my fixing at the end of the day, frequently after midnight. And I didn't get to bed early last night so I'm bound to be zzzzzing later on.
