Here's one of my favourite hoons. Ah, Mr Sudden, Your cover is blown! There I was believing you were a follower of authentic performance, and consequently believing that you were a virtuoso on the 5-bar gate. But you clearly have overstepped the mark by a good 46 bars! We all know that the 51-bar gate is an instrument of mere fantasy! When did you get an extension to yours? Tommo

I'm surprised no one's mentioned any of various Hoongarian Rhapsodies that grace the repertoire.

I see that the Hoonlight Sonata appears to have been overlooked.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

...sitting in a corner...
"hoon, hoon on the range..."
"Kitty! Are you trying to play the range again? I told you last week, 'Wait till the chimney's been swept.' And why can't you use the eyeliner Aunt Smorgasbord gave you. That blacklead's expensive!"
