Actually Bryn, I meant is it the 3rd of his Glasspieces.
Tommo
Ah, but Akhnaten has already been dismissed, and the third of the Glasspieces is an arrangement of the "Funeral" from that.

Second clue for puzzle 174: count the violas!
Second clue for puzzle 178: the name of the composer (from the States of America remember) of this symphony begins with 'R'.
In that case for 174 may we suggest the Mozart G minor quintet? Sorry no; the Member has forgotten Schoenberg!

Another punt for 194 - Glass: 1000 airplanes on the roof?
And yet again, you miss by a mile. Anyway, you should know that it would have to be a drop kick to score. A punt just will not do.

So, Bryn - this Glass. Is it the third of his Dance Pieces?
Tommo
No Tommo, it is not the third of his Dance Pieces, though it does bear a similar title, (I take it you refer to "In The Upper Room"). In the Summer House??

Which seems to be pointing towards In the Penal Colony so I'll give that a go even though the instrumentation seems wrong...

Might, I wonder, the composer of Mr Grew's 178 not be Wallingford Riegger? His Third Symphony, of 1948, perhaps?

Oops, For 178, I will go for Riegger's 5th, which is much better known. Sorry, it's not that, even. In fact we understood Riegger like Brahms to have written only four symphonies and three string quartets, but then again we may be labouring under a misapprehension.
