Puzzle 213

We would venture that Puzzle No.213 is by Gabriel Fauré and is his Barcarolle No.6?

Daniel! Yes! Tremendous effort! Give that man some points.

Thankyou, Ollie.

I'm not sure what proper protocol is in the presence of a points zillionaire, but I hope it is acceptable if I allow myself a small, northern american 'yee-ha' in celebration. These small amounts go a long way for us who trundle along on the low road.

Three tunes you've probably heard before but do you know where they come from?

What took you so long, Mr Inquisitor? You're right, of course.

217 is from Arthur Bliss's music for the HG Wells-based film Things to Come.

You're as ruthlessly efficient as someone else I know. Correct! I didn't think they'd last long but it is hard to get the balance right sometimes. I never thought my Hary Janos clip would go unsolved, for example.  Undecided

Thank heavens for that. I've been sitting here most of the day trying to get some work done and seeing all these puzzles going by and refusing myself the indulgence of getting involved and taking time and attention away from the matters at hand, but finally I couldn't stop myself, so it's a good thing I actually knew one of them. (It's one of the very few examples of AB's work that I'd recognise mind you.)

A second clue for puzzle 185 perhaps?

It was composed on the occasion of the marriage of a dear friend's daughter. The text is by Goethe.

I shall persist (probably foolishly) with Berg, and suggest his Mignon.
