In that case it must be

202 Johann Strauss II: Wo die Zitronen blüh'n
203 Prokofiev: Love for 3 Oranges
204 Bartók: Miraculous Mandarin

And 201 is the Weber horn concertino! The famous chordal cadenza.

Three out of three for a fruity connection, Mr Sudden!

202 Johann Strauss II - Wo die Citronen blüh'n (Where the lemon trees bloom)
203 Prokofiev: Love for Three Oranges Suite
204 Bartók: The Miraculous Mandarin Suite

We anticipate a zesty celebratory post!  Wink

Yes, Mr Sudden! It occurred to me when Weber's 1st Symphony came up.

Hurrah!

Although we would apparently be well advised to avoid attempting to make citrus marmalades. While our solving is working nicely, our setting obviously leaves much to be desired.

And this Glass thing... it isn't one of the pieces I know so my guess would be one of Dance 1-5.

Would it indeed? Well if somebody, care I not who, would care to venture which, if any of the 5 Dances, (which are, after all a collection, rather than a single work, and are for two quite different forms of instrumentation), they are putting forward as a solution to the Puzzle, i will be happy to confirm or deny. However, since nobody has so far been so bold as to name a specific work ...

I think you know what tends to happen under these circumstances Wink

I propose Dance no. 1.

That is an incorrect and frivolous attempt.

Oh come on you guys, this is all very sweet of you but just because I instantly knew it was Glass Dance 3 (I think Michael Reisman on keyboards?) proves I should stay chained to the puter in case someone (Bryn!) posts something I know in a second rather than go down the Rat & Carrot on a Friday night  Cheesy

And now I am playing the darned thing again!

You knew no such thing, young Termite Lover, for it is not such.

Then I shall be forced to cast chivalry to the winds and nominate Dance no. 5 which I have in the mean time heard.

Quite so, os. How anyone could confound it with either Dance No. 1 or Dance No. 3 eludes me. They are so different in so many ways.

I should like my Glass points to be awarded to Member Antheil to encourage her persistence.

As some have and some have not learnt over the past weeks so much here is is it not a matter of perspective...  Lips sealed

206 sounds rather like Gossec's symphony in D major 'La Chasse'...

And just in case there's a connection here too I'll pop up a flag for the Mozart Hunt Quartet for 205 and the Royal Hunt from Berlioz's Les Troyens for 207.

I shall now go into the garden and eat worms.

Crikey! I thought that would be the last one to go...it is indeed Gossec's 'La Chasse' as performed by Concerto Köln.
