And just in case there's a connection here too I'll pop up a flag for the Mozart Hunt Quartet for 205 and the Royal Hunt from Berlioz's Les Troyens for 207.

Yes to the Mozart, but no to Berlioz's Royal Hunt and Storm from Les Troyens, although it nearly was!  Tongue

Just to keep the guesses coming: the other one couldn't be Franck Le Chasseur maudit could it?

Bravo - 207 are indeed the final moments of Le Chasseur maudit.

Gosh!

Sorry, didn't expect that. Well, Hurrah! I must listen to that piece again. It's been too long.

I think I should offer some clues about my open ones. (Although not 200 since the statutory 10 hours have not yet elapsed.)

Puzzle 185 sounds rather more modern than its composer was known for. The text takes pity on a misanthrope.

Puzzle 188 is one of a set composed by someone much better known for his orchestral music. There are birds involved.

209 is the one you've called puzzle c, yes? That's the Shostakovich 3rd symphony.

209 is labelled puzzle c, yes, but it's not Shostakovich's 3rd Symphony.  Sad

We permit ourselves to wonder what the record thus far might be for points in a day for we do indeed seem to be having what the cricketing press might call a run feast.

Puzzle 188 is Ravel's Trois beaux oiseaux du paradis, I think.

And another go at 200 - Wozzeck?

Daniel! Yes! Tremendous effort! Give that man some points.

A truly wonderful song, I think. From Ravel's Trois chansons.

I shall take the liberty of posting the complete song on the discussion thread.

No, not Wozzeck for 200 though.
