No sir. Perhaps one last clue is in order: while it is a violin concerto, that's more like its subtitle: it has another title by which it's more often known. Edit: oops - forgot this: 5321+75=5396

IGI, Incorrect to Tippett Triple
And 247 - is it Janacek's Wandering of a Little Soul from 1925? (I will be embarrassed if it is, having listened to it twice...)
Tommo
3679 + 10 = 3689
edit: corrected to 10 extra points as this was my second guess on the snatch within an hour

No sir. Perhaps one last clue is in order: while it is a violin concerto, that's more like its subtitle: it has another title by which it's more often known. That appears to rule out Krenek's 1924 First Violin Concerto but let us try it any-way.

Wieniawski's Légende, Op.17? 16016 + 20 = 16036 Sorry, Incorrect. And do you only get 10 points given this second guess is within an hour? Tommo Edit - oops. That was your first guess about 261, whilst the other guess was about 257. Sorry. This is all too confusing.

Edit: oops - forgot this: 5321+75=5396 Hindemith -- Kammermusik 4? That is exactly what it is, Mr J. Congratulations are in order. Now: firstly, this means that either 232 or 234 is also by Hindemith, which might smooth your passage towards another correct answer, and secondly here is Puzzle 271which is not by Hindemith.

Is Puzzle 234 Hindemith's Drei Gesänge für Sopran und Orchester op. 9? Meine Nachte sind heiser zerschrien (My nights are rent by hoarse screaming)
To Mr 1780 - I believe a reduced score for a guess only applies if your guess is a second one for the same puzzle which, as this was my first attempt at 261, would still count as 20. I'm sure Mr Grew will confirm one way or the other.
16036 + 20 = 16056

Excellent news. erm... 168 + 180 = 348. This all assumes that I had my point total right to begin with.

No, it is not. It is by Johann Jakob Froberger, the Allemande from his Partita Meditation sur ma mort future. 348 + 20 = 368 Edit: My initial estimate of my score was too low by 350. So my actual current score, you'll all be relieved to know, is 718.
