A clue for puzzle 473...

It was composed during 1890-93, and was one of six such works written by its composer. It is claimed by Robert Simpson that already in this work the composer shows hints of "progressive tonality" of the kind evident in his later works.

So 473 is Carl Nielsen's 1st symphony?

It is indeed autoharp - and you should have earned 400 points.

After the oboe, some clarinetty bits:

Puzzle 469

Puzzle 470

Puzzle 471

It looks as though clues are needed. If oliver sudden were around I'm sure he would have got them by now.

469 is from a chamber work for five.

470 is ballet music that is sometimes played in the concert hall. It's music for any time of the year.

471 is also from a ballet with extraordinary Chinese associations.

Thank you for the hints Mr. Watson. Number 471 must be part of Bartok's Miraculous Mandarin we suppose.

Given the clue, Tony's 470 might be Glazunov The Four Seasons ?

You suppose correctly, Mr Grew.

It might be and indeed it is, Mr Garnett.

This composer teaches and lives in Berlin... or perhaps he has retired? In that case he just lives there. And composes.

Celebratory Woo Hoo!!

Hmm. Now then 469 Undecided . I started Tony's clarinet trio with the assumption that at least one of them ought to be Weber but all three sounded much later than that. Nonetheless I'll just say the Weber Clarinet Quintet for fun and see what happens.

YABBA DABBA DOO!!

While I'm on a roll, Fraggers' 472. I've no idea, and I can't even work out the instrumentation, but I'll have a wild stab at Walter Zimmermann: Schatten der Ideen (Number, um, something)

My condolences, Fred Flintstone, but that is not it. The work in question is quite unique is not it in its frank use of drones.

HERE and HERE is puzzle 474. The composer of the first half we hear is pretty plain but by whom is the rest?
