This morning was lovely, really thick white frost, blue sky and sun, no wind.  Mid-morning the rain started and the wind is as sharp as a knife.  Like Mort I have acquired the art of layering, it traps warm air between the layers.  Silk camisole tops are especially effective.

Two new jumpers were purchased today!!  Tomorrow it will be new (warmer) scarf and gloves to be hunted down plus thicker socks.

Blech.

Horrible cold rain here suddenly (mixed with hail? I'm resolutely staying inside so I'm not sure), with lightening and thunder too.

Yes. If it's the same one or anything like it that passed over the south coast about an hour and a half ago. Seriously nasty.

Ah, so I wasn't hearing things then. Someone was letting off fireworks here earlier, although I guess the vibration and deep rumble should have given the game away. Stopped the fireworks in their tracks though Wink

Not such a thick frost as yesterday but because we had all that rain yesterday the side roads and pavements are treacherous with ice.  Snow on the mountains but blue sky and sun and no wind.

A bit of a frost here but it's melting rapidly now in the sun.  Doesn't matter, i don't have any plans for today that involve going anywhere!

There was a covering of snow when I got back to Brum late yesterday evening. Even though she'd been inside for 36 hours, Pixie took one look at it, when I opened the back door for her, and dashed back into the house. There's still a bit of snow on the grass now.

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Ha ha - I built a snow rabbit last Easter Sunday!  We don't really have seasons now do we? Just weather...

One of my firends from university built a snow woman in our garden, just to be different!  I have a photo somewhere but it had partly melted by that time so it looks a bit er...what's the right word...melted!

The last time we had decent snow I built a naked snow woman and a Roman soldier, I'll have to see if I have the photos somewhere.

Just arrived home in sleety conditions but we are forecast very slightly warmer I think (last night was 0 degrees)
