And a couple more. These two on my cameraphone and possible pushing the zoom a bit hard. Another suffering rosemary And to continue my earlier theme, the parakeets weren't put off

This photo was our pond during a hard frost, there was some floating greenery (floaters, oxygenators) that frost killed all but the Brooklime plant and the reeds, this photo from this week so some oxygenators to purchase this week. There are 10 gold/brown fish in the pond. Because the floaters have died I should have a net over the pond to protect the goldfish from herons (coming from nearby lake) but frogs get tangled in the net. Wildlife comes first, so no net.

I like windy days, they're so thrilling. And it's warm enough to take tshirt off too!!!

Warm? Don't know where you are but it's freezing up here and has been all day. East wind is always the coldest I find. At least the sand is blowing away from the house instead of towards it for a change.

Not warm here either. A bitter Easterly wind gusting at 20mph, although sunny and bright, and we are warned an extreme temperature drop and stronger winds tomorrow. Again, thick frost and mist this morning. And to think the Thursday before Easter was the warmest March day ever!! I went out at lunchtime to try and buy a jumper - all that was on offer were strappy Summer tops.

Really sunny and warm this morning and early afternoon and then, it started to rain while on the way back from Harrogate. Now it's been raining on and off for the last 4 hours. It's really cold as well and some parts of Yorkshire woke up to snow this morning (but not us, luckily)

... when the librettist goes all sanctimonious and holy about "never mind that we're miserable and freezing our b**** off here, we will soon be entering the gates of Heaven, where it is eternal spring" or words to that effect. He should have been on the platform at my station this morning - but all we had to look forward to was the scramble for a seat on the 0751 to London Victoria ...

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

I'm off to see some cricket at my local club soon. Hope it's a bit warmer than it was when I was at Edgbaston on Wed & Fri but I doubt it - I left at 3pm yesterday only because I'd got so cold in the strong, freezing E/N wind that I couldn't take any more. Warks are heading for defeat so I haven't bothered to go to the final day today - also it's a lot more comfortable listening to the live commentary on the internet

It was absolutely freezing at the cricket this afternoon - strong cold northerly wind and nowhere to take shelter from it After about an hour and a half I admitted defeat and sat in my vehicle to watch - it then started raining but they still carried on playing! I left at the tea interval to come home to warm up. This picture gives little idea of the actual conditions: [cotitsalv] There was one other spectator but he left again after a few minutes - no-one else is quite as barmy as me! I've uploaded this picture using my new Ubuntu laptop - all good practice

It's too freezing to go out at all, let alone watch cricket.

It's perishing oop 'ere as well. The wind has eased off now but still very cold. Having had a houseful of children till half an hour ago, I've been glad to have been upstairs in the warm doing my ironing.

So what's going on then, ladies? Bright sunshine all day here and warmish - no cold wind - pleasant enough at least to spend all day doing outside chores without wishing I might be inside instead.

Pretty jolly cold here to - Lynn did some gardening earlier but not for very long. Even the cat won't spend long outside. I put a second jumper over the top of the first one and stayed indoors with the open fire going.
