After a threatening start this morning, sunny and pleasant here at the moment (touches wood). Let's hope it is like that for Pond Clearing Sunday this weekend.

I've just spent 2 hours excavating a tree root from our garden - left after we had a tree removed last year. Glad it's not quite so sunny here as I am worn out (but not sunburnt)!

Yet another hot day down here!! Nearly a whole week of sunshine. my goodness. We better be careful, because the water boards be telling us to conserve water, as we've had more than 2 days of sun!!

Have I missed an announcement from The Archbishop of Canterbury or The Synod? I thought this weekend was Pentecostal Sunday? Will you lead the ceremony of Pond Clearing Sunday with a rendition of All Creatures that on Earth do Dwell, or perhaps All Things Bright and Beautiful, all Creatures Great and Small GG? |

It strikes me that a Crozier is just the shape for tugging up pondweed? |

Very hot here, with no more than a breath of breeze; it's village fete day here, with the sound of a not-very-distant oompah-band carrying on the sultry air. Meanwhile, a couple of hundred yards away, the main road into Brighton is gridlocked ....
