Oh lummee, the rains have just swept in along with thunder and lightening Looking at the weather maps, that lot is headed towards me Andy, the good news is that it didn't last long. It's even a bit brighter now

Very changeable here. I drove to Preston and back this morning and I was either blinded by sun and having to wear my shades, or it was black clouds and torrential rain. Couldn't make its mind up at all. Home now and I need to take the dog out but it looks a bit dark over Will's mother's......

Our lawn flooded and the muddy water ran into the pond again just when it was looking so fresh and clean and I could see the newts.

It was lovely in Hull this morning Now there's a novel concept Here's a mundane one: I got soaked to the skin in Cardiff yesterday. You know that rain that isn't particularly heavy, but somehow 'wetter' than other kinds of rain, and just goes on and on? That was the fella.

Ha ha you two. I had an umbrella, but thought I'd leave it behind for what was promised to be a short dash across a park (the rain had momentarily stopped), but which turned out to be a 20-minute yomp over hill and dale and a bridge ( ) and two main roads. And NO pubs on the way.

It is a well known fact that Welsh rain is far heavier and wetter and colder than English rain in Cardiff rather than Swansea. We do it on purpose. It is a perverse side of us, that we want others to suffer as we do. As seconded by Sir Richard of Abertawe Any fule no that especially no one that goes to Cardiff on a Tuesday. Tuesdays are the pits when it comes to weather! Also, we sometimes cause public houses to disappear!

What, even Swansea?? Hmm - I used to visit Swansea (or, more precisely, a large Government agency in Morriston) on a regular basis for work and, despite close family connections with the West of Scotland, I have never seen rain like Swansea rain - drenching, unceasing, water just descending from an unbroken slate-grey sky in an unremitting deluge
