When in doubt, wash.

A load of diofferent weather reports today! (Left that o in for John to show solidarity!)

Strong, gusty wind, small branches lying on the pavements. No rain yet...

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Thanks MJ  Cheesy

Really been a non-day here today, rain rain, and instead of doing paperwork I watched football, highlight was going out (in slippers) to a garage to inflate a back tyre, totally flat, really hope it's not flat due a nail, will look again tomorrow. No, real highlight was daughter and partner came round for dinner, nice bump on her tummy now  Smiley

Guess what?  It's still raining here in South Wales and it's windy and cold.  I see the Hay Literary Festival turned into a Glastonbury experience!

And, because it's Bank Holiday, today's film is The Sound of Music....  Having said that I've never ever actually watched it, perhaps I might today?  Weather is set to get worse and Wednesday promises thunderstorms here with a sudden rise in temperature of 10 degrees.

Still no rain here.  Glorious sunshine but very breezy.  Quite warm in the shade but the wind still has a chill in it.  We could do with some rain really for the gardens.

Speaking of which, I wonder if George has had to resort to his arm bands and is swimming manfully round the house rescuing pets and ornaments?  Huh

The hills are alive, anty.

Karaoke performances of The Sound of Music used to be on every weekend in London and there was a prize for the best nun's habit.  Somebody I knew won the prize - she was a nun, but the sort who never normally wears a habit.

I must be bonkers, I was sitting outside in a gale this afternoon watching cricket at Harborne. I had 2 jumpers, a fleece and gloves on and I was still freezing Harborne is usually quite a sheltered ground but it was impossible to get out of the wind.

I wasn't the only loony, a chap I know was sitting a few feet away from me but nearly everyone else was inside the pavilion watching the Test on TV - New Zealand must be kicking themselves for losing that game. I was almost glad when it started raining at 5-15, though it meant that Harborne were robbed of victory.

Cornwall.

Cold, very wet, gale force winds. Fire alight & heating on.

Gawd help the campers!

Still no rain here as yet but I'm sure it must be on its way by now!  Dull and cloudy.  The wind has dropped at least.

Rain is causing chaos with my shrubs  Sad

We've been in this house 17 years now, second family to occupy it - the previous family planted NOTHING in the garden so I started from scratch. All the shrubs I planted along both sides are now very mature and overlap each other a bit now so both sides are like a wall of shrubbery, which has it's advantages, privacy, attracts birds etc But the overlapping means I have to do trimming inside them to thin them out a bit so the flowers will look tidy.

Didn't do a great job trimming, especially the rose bushes - the persistent rain has kind of 'separated' the rose bushes so all these long stems of rose bushes are now hanging/drooping out from the wall of shrubbery, and I can't just cut them because there are so many buds! I should have pruned the roses more severely weeks ago, so that all their flowers would be below the main shrubs.

So I've been out in the rain tieing the droopy rose stems to the stronger shrubs, and I think I've got bitten  Sad
