I have a fencing panel missing.  There is probably more damage possibly from the roof but I'm not going out to inspect until this wind has died down.

Statistically it's far more likely to rain if you've arranged a Sports Day! I've had more rained-off Sports Days than sunned-on ones. Roll Eyes

Here it is dark, have to have the lights on, blowing a hooley with vicious cold spitty rain, leaves and branches coming down.

Flaming June?  More like crow black, sloe black night.  I don't like hot weather but I think the beginning of May was our Summer, tonight is more like November.

Hmm.  Wanders off to write the Christmas cards.....

Brighton, earlier this evening:

Ha ha! But there's a wind a-blowin' in. And I don't like its feel.

No, it's not good.  Earlier on there were a lot of seagulls where I am (three miles or so inland), which is an ominous sign - and some of them were flying backwards in the face of the gale, which is worse.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

...and those barstewards are BIG, here. I saw one today, demolishing a bin bag in about 30 seconds.

We get lots of gulls in Brum so they must have been blown a long way inland Cheesy

I saw an enormous herring gull on the roof of one of the houses in my road recently, couldn't believe the size of it.
