Happy Holidays Milly, where are you going?

It was cool this morning then very, very, hot, humid and windy.  About 5pm it got cooler again and a sharp shower.  Grey and windy now and forecast rain for next five days.  My neighbour's son is getting married on Saturday, I hope the rain isn't too heavy.

Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Germany, Poland and Russia for 2 days!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

It's bucketing down with rain here and has been for the last 30 minutes or so.  No thunder or lightning here yet but I can see it over the sea on the horizon.  Wonderful!  Smiley

It's been truly glorious here today - warm with a friendly breeze and deep, deep blue sky. The breeze is now picking up and horsetails have appeared in the sky, rain is on the way. Don't care. The last few days have been lovely Smiley

There's no fooling you Mary!!!!  Grin

I love cruising.  So much to do, all found, plenty for the child.  Entertainment good-ish, but there are always classical concerts and I'm always one of the half dozen people that attends them all.  Roll Eyes  I've already booked our excursions online.  I always choose half-day ones where possible because the full day trips are very long for a 7-year old.  Having said that, we have a couple of all day trips because they look so good and we're in port for 2 nights in St Petersburg so there's plenty to do.  We finish up in Oslo before arriving back in Southampton. OH JOY!!!!  Grin

I'm just looking forward to being waited on, fed, entertained and I'm going to book some dazzling beauty treatments for myself.  It's "Spoil Milleeee Fortnight".  Cheesy

I know about Baltic cruises second-hand - one of my sons went on one. He enjoyed it. I remember being quite jealous because he got to St Petersburg before I did. He liked Riga best, but Latvia doesn't seem to be on your list.

It was a bit of an adventure because the friend he was going with was agarophobic and chickened out at the last minute. The cruise company allowed my other son to join the ship at Riga for a few days, and then other friends, one at a time, joined at various points.

Ah, the rain has arrived. Chucking it down. I've had to switch the lights on because it's dark as night. Hope there's not a storm <glances nervously at the computer>

We've had some rain here too but it's stopped now. I ignored my own advice while I was away this week and forgot to unplug the modem before I went Sad There was a torrential downpour in Surrey Thursday afternoon, I'd just stopped the van and had to sit there for 30 mins or so while the rain and hail hammered the body.

Glorious here - clear skies, fresh breeze - which is just as well because it's our village fete this afternoon

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Still ridiculously changeable here.  You can alternately freeze, boil or get soaking wet within the space of just an hour.  No wonder everybody's ill up here.  It was cool, grey and gloomy with a chilly wind this morning, then for the last hour it has been a gloriously sunny heatwave - really hot.  In the last few minutes, we've clouded over again and it looks as though another shower is on the way.  The wind is getting up again as the tide is right in up to the back wall.

I've nearly finished packing now for the hols but I'm taking so much more than I wanted to so as to cover for changeable weather.   Sad
