Sunshine and showers here - two or three times simultaneous but no rainbows so far. Bright blue sky, with white and grey clouds skudding across. (I love that word, skudding!)

Me too, MJ. Shame it's usually spelled 'scudding'.  Grin

As PW says, it's glorious here on't south coast. Pretty breezy, but warm enough for that to be pleasant rather than annoying. I can here live ska and reggae music from live bands on the front around the corner from me. Hmm. Picnic on beach or Wimbledon?  Huh

You can alternately freeze, boil or get soaking wet within the space of just an hour.

You've got the plumbers in for the gas boiler too, Milly? That makes four of us I think.

I've just been to a wedding (it was an early kick-off - 12.00)  As bride and groom were about the leave the Church the Heavens opened and a monsoon occured  Sad

Stayed for a couple of glasses of champers (hic!) in the next door function room but not to the formal sit-down do.  Anyway, the bride looked lovely, the bridesmaids were in deep red, the flowergirl was positively angelic and the pageboy (surprisingly) remained silent!!

No ska or reggae at the village fete, but we were entertained by this fine body of musicians:

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

The weather here is truly appalling, gale force winds and squally showers and very dark.  I felt so sorry for David and Ruth but they had the official photographs in the Church and then it cleared slightly so they had a couple outside and then the Heavens opened again.

They are both mid-thirties and single parents and knew each other when they were at school.  His son was the pageboy and her daughter the flowergirl.  Here's wishing them all the best.  What an eventful weekend, a wedding, Pixie the cat goes to live with Andy and lovely little Miriam enters the world.  Cheesy  I am quite overcome with emotion!

I shall need the plumbers in when we return George.  My pilot light keeps going out as well.  I keep the hot water on constant and this morning, my shower was cold because the light had obviously gone out in the night.  I can relight it manually when I realise it's happened.  All the same it shouldn't keep happening.  Sad

Horrible weather today. I was at a cricket match which started late because of the overnight rain, there was an interruption for a heavy shower, and it was so cold and windy. Added to which my team were batting terribly, so I left before the end of the match and came home, before my hands got any number Angry
