I basically floated into work a lot of the way..... the country lanes were so flooded that half way in you felt like you were gliding.  But as there were morons flying past me I had no way of turning round.

Grey here at the moment but it's not actually raining. Today's forecast is for showers though.

Tipping down stair-rods.

As in Stoke Newington, so in Highgate. Plus  thunder and lightning Shocked Gosh, it's awfully dark ...

Cripes! Never mind the stair rods, St Peter is chucking down the entire staircase now, plus bannisters!

Last night was dreadful, I was woken three times by incessant rain beating at the windows and blowing a hooley.  Today has been showery but again, not even half-six and having to have the lights on.  The Met Office have said this unsettled dampness with continue for the next 15 days.  Which includes St. Swithan's Day on July 15th and we all know what that means ..... another buglering 40 days of rain!  Grump, Grump!!

Evening all, and Anty x 3 pairs of gumboots and a couple of St Swithuns' rosaries

The good news is that it's clearing up here in the Sarf. With luck the rest of you will feel the benefits soon. Don't like the sound of that long-range forecast at ALL! Mind you, how often do they get it right?

Evening Marty x 3 Sou'westers, matching cagoules and a Fisherman's Friend.

Doesn't sound good at all, Met Office now saying it'll be as bad as last Summer for rain but we might get some sun by September.  Chucking it down again here.

Could be worse I spose.  Plagues of locusts, boils and frogs spring to mind.  Four horsemen of the Apocolypse.  Count yourself lucky in Brighton you have a replica of The Ark.

Indeed, Anty. We should all be able to just about fit in there, although I fear Norman Cook and Zoe Ball may have to be the ones left behind to cast off.  Cheesy

My brother, aged about 13 at the time, once kept a couple of Jehova's Witnesses on the doorstep for half an hour arguing the toss with them about how, if literally EVERY living thing had to be on the Ark x 2, you would get all the microbes and bacteria on board. The JWs ran away in the end. But no wonder he didn't have too many friends in those days.  Roll Eyes

Don't worry bbm, all the experts predict it'll be gone again soon.
