That's ok then!  I was a bit puzzled there..... Huh

No use my taking anything to the charity shop anyway.  Nothing would fit anybody because I'm knee-high to a duck.  Sad  I took some lovely shoes into one of those shops that sell them for you and after the owner had finished giggling she said she would try but wasn't holding out much hope because they were so small.  My 7-year old has bigger feet than me already.  Cry

I've just ironed 4 pairs of jeans and 3 pairs of casual linen trousers.

Linen looks as if you haven't ironed it five minutes after you have, in my limited experience.

That's why I never bother ironing it.

Small is beautiful, which is a statement I always agree with. What was his name, Schumacher, or somebody like that Roll Eyes

I wouldn't bother going back to that charity shop again, Milly. Rather rude to giggle at your offerings. Seems a shame to let clothes no longer wanted go to waste though Sad

... but he presses on regardless. So as to speak.

He's the only person I know who keeps an electric iron in his rucksack: pretty pointless if you're camping overnight miles from the nearest three-pin plug, but he wouldn't dream of setting out on a journey without it.

And an ironing board as well, I hope.

Ah, now GG. there's the rub. No ironing board. But brown paper so that he can iron on the floor of anywhere that has a mains socket, if need be. When we were in the Andes (the one case where the iron was left at home) he went to extraordinary lengths to position his strides on top of the bed mat just so, to make sure that his sleeping weight made them as presentable as possible. Totally beyond help, I'm afraid.

We could finally go for a walk two days of rain. I could not even get outside tomorrow and was stuck in the house.
How many hours can one practice with useful results. It gets contraproductive after a while.

But today it was possible to walk to the supermarket and back. There was even sun at one point.

I like ironing. In the USA it was not necessary to iron, but here it feels good to iron and then put things away.
I find it hard to dry things here.
Poet Mayakovsky said in his poem that he needs little beside cleaned iron shirt. They are not sure now if he is a good poet or he is a Soviet poet.
The program on Radio 4 was very good about Russian poets, but I doubt they are on listen again still.

No no - it wasn't a charity shop - it was a "nearly new" shop which sells stuff for you.  They then take their commission out and give you the rest.  The shoes were expensive designer ones, but there seems to be a limited market for size 3s.  Roll Eyes

That may be correct Mary, but it looks absolutely awful when it's just been washed if you don't press it first.
I love linen anyway, cool and practical.  I never put creases in trousers or jeans - just press them flat.  Whatever happens to them after that, at least I know they started off ok.  Grin

Another day's cricket ruined by the weather. I got to Harborne's ground at 10am when there was due to be a 3-way T20 against Leek and Northampton. Overnight rain delayed the start for ages so it was eventually postponed till next Sunday - at Northampton.

However, there was a league match at the ground which eventually got under way at 3-15, so I saw some cricket, as I'd gone home and returned later. While I was waiting for the league game to start, a Northampton supporter arrived, having just driven from Northampton, so we had to tell him that his team had just got on the coach and gone home Sad He didn't seem too upset.

Another showery week in prospect Sad
