It took 7 to satisfy me and I'm now not entirely sure I shouldn't have stopped before that.

Size, though. It does matter.

Not to mention ...

I didn't see this thread yesterday but Lynn saw a Jaffa cake van the other day which had "no jaffa cakes are left in this van overnight" written on the side!  (Personally, I can't stand them!)

What taste do Jaffa Cakes have other than sugar and gungy mucous?
You're saying that as though it's a bad thing...

I had some "habitas baby con jamón" in Granada the other day. While I was eating it I thought: this is really just bacon and beans. On the other hand no it wasn't.

These babies are near the top of my munchies list. Peppered cashews.

Member Barrett may remember my introducing them to him in a pub near Watford with fondness.

Have you tried making 'em at home, Mart?  Grab some raw cashews, oil, pan  and next thing ...

well the sponge texture is a big part of it for me: not quite so big a fan in ones where the gelatine takes over.  I remember once...oh wait, I told that story already (the one about the extremely large 'jaffa' cake).

Cashews are GREAT when u do them in the microwave, no oil, salt, whatever. I put the raw cashews on a plate and cook them for 1'40" in my microwave. Delicious! However, I also like them done really unhealthily in oil with ground black pepper etc as per martle's post.

Healthy or not? It's so difficult2decide!!!!!

What do members eat for breakfast?
I usually have a bowl of muesli, toast with marmalade, a banana, a little bit of dried fruit, a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea. Today I've omitted the dried fruit and the toast because I'm running a little late.

I have muesli with extra added oats (sounds as if I'm a horse), and usually dried fruit with it, and coffee. By breakfast time I've already drunk about a pint of tea. About once a week I have a boiled egg with toast, and toast and marmalade. I love the boiled egg breakfast, but somebody told me that eggs are bad for my slightly raised cholesterol levels. I've never been certain whether to believe this, but am being a bit cautious just in case. I'd love to eat eggs (not necessarily for breakfast) every day.

To my shame I don't really have a breakfast routine much beyond a cup of tea. Cereals don't happen because I can't stand milk. I love toast but it doesn't like me (the 'healthier' the bread the more dire the consequences Sad). Given the time, my preference would be for something cooked. Not necessarily the old Full English heart attack on a plate, but lovely mushrooms with a sprinkle of thyme perhaps? Juicy grilled tomatoes. Not forgetting the wonderful boiled egg with Marmite soldiers! Except there's the toast problem Cry Cry
