Did anyone else just experience an earthquake? Here (East Midlands) a low rumble, and then the building actually shook - including my bookcase! Shocked

Well, at least I wasn't imagining it:

Nothing here in Brum.
Hm, maybe you're immune to them, Andy?

Had a txt from friend who felt it but, unless I was daydreaming at 1am, I'm pretty sure there was nothing here. There was a big quake in Dudley in 2002, mentioned in that BBC news item, which woke me up.

Just seen this on BBC News site:

Natasha Cavey, in Tipton in the West Midlands, said: "All my cupboard doors flew open and the whole house shook, it was unreal. I can't believe it."

Tipton is only few miles away from me yet I felt and heard nothing, perhaps I'd dozed off? Grin

A little more re. Puzzle 167. I have three recordings of performances of the work in question. One uses mandolin and harpsichord, one a mandolin and piano, and the third a recorder and guitar. It is also know by at least two different titles. However, a common catalogue number is applied, which ever title is used.

The BBC News web page has link which says "Hundreds of homes damaged" - which links to a story about the quake in Kent in April 2007 - must be difficult updating websites in response to breaking news.

I had just logged off about 1 a.m. when the whole house vibrated from an earth tremor.  Considering the epicentre was apparently in Market Rasen, I'm amazed I felt it up here in the North West.  It was the weirdest feeling!  It only lasted a few seconds but wasn't nice at all.
my god! did anyone feel that earthquake?
i must say i was extremely scared.
I didn't, here in the NW, though I gather some did. I feel a bit cheated, but I can believe it was scary if it actually happened to you. You wouldn't know what it was.
Wow! Not just one, but three threads! The earthquake must have shaken the structure of the boards as well!
(Obviously shockwaves didn't reach as far as Edinburgh).

Yes, we were awakened here in East Warwickshire just before 1.00am, felt like a tornado (have experienced one of those) shaking the house, and oddly like something on the roof. Three of us were awakened, daughter slept through it. The noise from the roof I know was loose bits of plaster moving between the tiles and the insulation sheet.

It was a proper earthquake 5.2 centred in Lincs near Wragby where we had a little break last year).

In nearby Coventry a house wall has partially collapsed.

...and all with (virtually) identical titles! What does that say about our imaginative powers?  Shocked

Well an aftershock is obviously responsible for this little stray sheep as well.
(Do you think that I can blame my misplaced post on the snatch thread last night on this too?)
