Oh Dearest Baz,

You are still in Denial about this Webb Ellis bloke.

Just accept the Welsh invented Rugby and our chant of Oggi, Oggi, Oggi, goes back to Max Boyce,  Owain Glyndwr and beyond to The Mabinogion.

You know it makes sense

Particularly when you see the scores.

- how can anything that ends with the suffix "ism" be some actual THING to celebrate?

Don't understand.  Why ever not?  Classicism? Romaniticism? Academicism?

Germaine Greer was at the University of Warwick, near Rugby.

There is certainly no consistent thread in her piece, but to give her her due she never allows herself to be pigeon-holed.

She certainly has as low an opinion of Enver Hodge as many members here.

William Webb Elllis became Rector of the parish of St Clements Dane.

"Ellis, put that blasted ball down."  And we would never have had rugby footie.  Doesn't sound convincing, does it?

My Dearest, Most Darling Baz, The Welsh are The Original Britons.  This a fact you have to live with.  It may be unpalatable, but look at Shane Wililams, the latest in a series of Small Welsh  Wizards  Cheesy  And they invented Rugby football and have Thighs to Rival The Song of Soloman (and Gavin Henson to boot)  Cheesy

It is their chapel going tradition makes them familiar with the Old Testament.

Not all Welsh are Chapel Don

Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.

His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.

Shane WHO!? I can't think what it is about you Aboriginals Anty - you seem (with all those thighs etc.) to have one-track minds. It's enough to give us saxons the willies.
