Kittybriton, I think it might be more a case of the Cats from Brazil - see my message 1141.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. That's what I get for skimming the boards. If it hadn't been for a major system crash a few weeks ago I would post a pic of one of ours who worked for quite a while last Christmas to get her head into a chinese lantern, and finally wore it like a collar with immense pride.

She gave me one of those looks when I couldn't stop laughing.

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.

Happy Birthday, Ian.  Have this small forte-piano gift in appreciation of your presence.

I suppose someone who repairs instruments like that might be called a spinet-doctor.

I looked at this in the supermarket, decided that colour is not good. This one does not have something.
It is hard to find what you like.

Not everyone is quite so appreciative of cats!

I love this cat. He is in deep contemplation (I have seen them even in deeper contemplation). My cat is wild. He runs away, but comes for food.

I have a few minuts to rest. I think I deserved it.I was running all morning, drove Mr TP to work, cleaned, cooked, shop. I heard some snippets of radio 3 on the go.  Where is everybody? Are you hiding for a party? Or are you buying presents?
I love the spinet. What else?

Hi t-p,

"He" is a "she", belongs to a friend of mine who wrote of her:

"Goodley Girl is a rescue cat. Has been with the current owners for nearly 3 years. She was hidden under a blanket in her cage at RSPCA where she was for 6 months before we took her and her companion/daughter. It took a week to get her to come out of her box when people were near. Hence her name as we encouraged her to emerge 'Good Girl, Good Girl.' She has 2 teeth and we don't know how old she is. She can now be coaxed to sit on laps."

She is very pretty - can't quite decide whether to be tabby or tortoiseshell. I used to have twin cats like this:

Ho t-p.  The picture you like is not of a spinet but of an early "square" (not really square) forte-piano.  I agree, it is nice.
Cheers

I don't think one can train a wild cat that never knew people. Our Yeltsin doen't even come close, but he knows how to beg by sitting on the window outside. I have dry food for him and some leftovers. It is nice to have him. I had another cat some time ago that was abandoned and starved. This one was a girl and she was lovely.
It is so nice that people adopt cats and dogs.

Oh, I love him. I am starting to think may be I should adopt one. I always end up with someone that is left behind or unwanted. This one is so cute. It will make me happy. What do people do with their animals when they go away?

With cats you get a trusted neighbour to feed them, that is all they ned really. With dogs I used to take them on holiay with me but it meant we couldn't go abroad. There are kennels for dogs and cats too, a bit pricey but the animals are cared for well if you choose with care.

Sometimes friends will come and live in your house and 'cat or dog' sit ... that works too !!

I had a friend who used to take in her friend's dog and visa versa, they were very happy then.
