Even if so, "Parity with the Pound by Christmas" doesn't have quite the same ring as 'CREATOR!'

'Eru' always conjures up the picture for me of Roo's little brother.

"Now then Roo and Eru, just one more jump each and we really must go home."

I chose Milly because it was my father's nickname for me.  Being so small, he always called me Milly Mouse.  Jones is my mother's maiden name - well half of it.  She's double-barrelled.  Grin

(P.S.  I was Wednesday Addams and Mort was my message-board Mum!)  Grin

There are quite a few people who know my real indentity but as I am now for the first time in 20 years suddenly in the phone book due to a monumental cock-up by BT when they changed my number by mistake, I would be wary of reminding the world at large of my true identity.  The reason I changed my number and went ex-directory-withheld was because of nuisance calls and I'd hate them to start up again.

I once had a lovely cat called Millie; she was rather small, too.

So now we know about the surname you use in your forum ID, we cannot really say of you - as the old 30s standard goes - "have you met Miss Jones?" (although I'd hazard a guess that that one has a special place in Elliott Carter's heart)...

DoverHyphenSole was first dreamed up by a real-life friend, based on my real-life freshwater surname.

Eruanto is a translation of this member's real first name into Quenya. This is the one of the languages used by the Elves, and it was invented and developed over decades by the subcreator JRR Tolkien. My name itself means "Son of the creator", so when the name here is shortened to 'Eru', members address me in far too lofty terms -

In the beginning Eru, the One, who in the Elvish tongue is named Ilúvatar, made the Ainur of his thought; and they made a great Music before him.
If we're having Tolkein's elves, please may I request this one:

Ah, of course, the noble Stickle-Back family. So glad that episode with the Minnows was eventually resolved. Troublesome business Grin

Mine is my real name... I feel a bit boring saying that after all those imaginative pseudonyms.

I post under my real name on TOP (or perhaps that statement should be in the past tense, given that I got fed up with it during the notorious Ecudorion era and haven't posted on there since).  I also post under my real name on various local forums.  As I joined both TOP and R3OK primarily for the purpose of discussion of opera and live performances in London, and as my name's reasonably well known in musical circles for writing about similar things elsewhere on t'internet, I didn't see the point in using a pseudonym.

I also post under my real name on three local community forums (well, as Ruth Elleson on one and RuthE on two others).  The only forum on which I post under a pseudonym is the one on which I post most prolifically, with quite a lot of personal stuff and a LARGE proportion of inane chat (more so than here!)  My pseudonym there doesn't have any direct connection with my name, but does have a connection with the general subject matter of the forum.
