Quite a lot of discussion at TOP about the new 2 minute slot on Breakfast, haven't noticed much here...? or have I been too idle to spot it?

Anyway, I'm all for it - I also think we could do some of our own free thinking - right here, right now !!!

If only I could think of something..... Huh ( I'll come back when I do!)

Free thinking, eh?  Guess there's no point in looking a gift-horse in the mouth: count me in.

I personally think we are into dependent and we are not free.
I depend on people who grow food, I depend on the net to work fast and not slow like today, I depend on stimulating programs on Radio 3. And that is only the beginning.

"Wir sind frei; denn das Brett, dass wir vor dem Kopf haben, haben wir uns selber dahin genagelt."
-Helmut Lachenmann, in a speech ghost-written for Luigi Nono, ca. 1958.

"We are free; for we ourselves have driven the nail that fixes a plank on the front of our heads."

Something gets lost in translation, it seems.  Undecided

What is the world coming to, when we have to give away thoughts? Whose idea was this anyway?

No, I'm not a complete idiot. I'm only a halfwit. In fact I'm actually a catfish.

Depends on what thoughts are being discussed. Free thinking, rather a strange title. When you think(no pun intended), you are free to think on what you like anyway. But then to duscuss on what you thought, depnding on that, could be risque, at times!!!

Just as well it's free, otherwise I would have had to demand a refund for the one this morning Grin

The term does represent a very particular movement, one I have a lot of sympathies with.

Before I did the job I do now I used to strip and distress Victorian pine furniture,  do fancy paint jobs and annoint with quotes from Jean Paul Sartre etc., in a rather lovely font (Prententious - Moi?)  Nice little earner it was.  Went down a treat in Cheltenham!

I have a small table which is dragged in pale blue and inscribed "The object of loving is to be loved.  Live all you can because it is a mistake not to, it doesn't matter what you do in particular, as long as you love your life.  If you haven't had that when what have you had?  The right time, what one loves, one loses, make no mistake that any time one is so lucky to share - Live!!  Love!
