Have just got back from Tommo's concert and had a close encounter with a fox walking home through the park. So all is well with the world. The Perseus Trio played Bridge, Shostakovich and Brahms. Didn't know any of the pieces but knew what soundworld to expect from Brahms and Shosta of course. Will now try to catch up with Bridge.

Tommo looked shy but happy.

It is really happy news, BobbyZ. I would go to. I am so proud that we have many performers in this small community.
I am delighted that things went well. It is so good to have good news.

Tommo looked shy but happy.

Ha ha! This has made me smile!  I don't think anyone has ever described me as shy before.  Gosh, I love how life is full of surprises!

Thanks BobbyZ

A very happy day to all of you!  All is well in Millyland - although it is only 7.42! So far so good....

I've just used Skype to talk to my girlfriend.
Talking for free! Amazing!
(harmonyharmony is not sponsored, in any way by Skype - more's the pity)
Admittedly I wasted most of last night looking for IMs that would let us talk without her having to download any software onto her geriatric machine, but it was very good nonetheless. Looking for a cheap microphone now and then I can perhaps go for a cheaper mobile tarrif.
Ping pong tonight.

Most landline calls at weekends are free or virually free hh. Eg even BT only charges 5p/hour - but you have to remember to redial after 1 hour. I could get free calls from my ISP and pay no more than I'm currently paying for my broadband package but I haven't quite got round to signing up yet. Try ringing the woman you love on a payg mobile though, it costs a lot of money, even at the weekend.

The IM problem is down to the computer that I'm using - audio is only just starting to be covered on Macs - MSN and Yahoo! still don't have audio support for Macs.
There's also the problem that she's living in a college and therefore doesn't have a landline.
So Skype could well save us a lot of money all things considered.

Both MSN and Yahoo are good with supporting webcams (Yahoo better, I would say, prefer the format). I had Skype ages ago, then got rid of it, just downloaded it again on the new machine - does it still give unlimited free calls (I saw something about having to buy a certain amount of time)?

Old webcam won't work on this machine because the drive is incompatible with Vista, but happily this machine has its own one built in (not so good though).
