I'm still awake somehow.
It's better when I'm sat in one place - I've got a bit of a headache - should really go to sleep soon.
The boxfiles were taken off my hands at 4:40pm today.
Made a small mistake of celebrating with a generous whisky with my supervisor before eating, but a hastily devoured pizza in front of one of my birthday DVDs (Ullysses 31) brought me back to the land of the sober. Now I've just got this funny twitch in one eye.
I will actually party one day.
Right now it feels a bit weird not to tweaking a file on Sibelius, or trying to muster my thoughts on borrowed material.

Here's a bee visiting the comfrey plant near my back door - took it today. There were several bees buzzing around the plant - they must be getting something from it and the plant must (in evolutionary terms) get something from them. Just that they don't seem to propogate themselves by seed. A friend  and I bought a packet of comfrey seeds and there were very few in the packet - 8? We divided them between us and sowed them. None of mine germinated and only one of his did. He made some root cuttings from his plant for me and all the comfrey plants I have come from that source.

What a lovely pic, Andy. The snails ate all of my young comfrey plant before it could make any big leaves. Do you use the comfrey for anything? It's supposed to have miraculous medicinal properties isn't it?

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

I think comfrey was used for setting broken bones. I've also seen a recipe for comfrey fritters but I've got a feeling that it came with a health warning. The snail/slugs eat the leaves on my comfrey early in the season but it's eventually too vigorous for them. The main use of comfrey for gardeners is as a feed, it's very beneficial for potatoes, tomatoes.

A friend of mine took some comfrey cuttings from someone at my allotment site and planted them in his garden. While he and his wife were away on holiday, his brother-in-law came round to look after the house and garden and thoughtfully dug up all the weeds (ie the comfrey).

I presume that you, (and by implication, your frends and relashuns) have superb taste. I never did figure out exactly what those strange words in the theme song were, or what they meant.  Cool

Good morning happy people.  Lovely and fresh oop north 'ere after a whole night's driving rain and thunderstorms.  If I'd known that was going to happen, I wouldn't have been out watering the garden after tea!   Roll Eyes

Ah well, bird table stocked, ducks fed, son's cat fed and let out for the day, dog been out - time for a cuppa!  Cheesy

The rain hasn't reached here yet, and it's still hideously hot and humid. Cloudy though, so I imagine thunder is near.

That's an excellent website, harmony. The theme song from The Raccoons always makes me happy. Smiley

Ulysses 31 was beautiful. My favourite episode is the one in which Ulysses is trapped inside Aeolus's giant pinball machine. Cool

I found the Spanish version on Youtube:

I don't know where I can find the English version on the internet. Huh
