Today, I have nothing to grump about, so I`m here. YAHOO !!!

Same here, Mort.

I cooked a lovely roast for dinner, it's the start of half-term and I've got performances of Il Trovatore, The Sacrifice (both WNO) and La Bayadère (Royal Ballet) to look forward to this week. Hoorah!  Cheesy

Each time I go through the beech wood now, I look out for the squirrels. There were a couple about today, the first too fast for the camera, the second, a couple of minutes later, was slightly more sedate, and froze for a second: she was still about fifty feet away, and I only had the middle camera, but it has a 12 x zoom, and the result's nae tae bad at a'...

Nice pic Ron, unfortunately I've only got lots of greys round here, not really worth spending too much time on even if the little bu**ers would sit still!

My goodness she's a beaut, Ron. Thanks for that. Very glad I dropped in to the Happy Room which I shall now exit decidedly happier for the experience.

Quite a productive day in the pine forest on top of Carrot Hill as well as the beechwood at Denside (Scottish pronounciation, please, with the emphasis very firmly on the second syllable Wink). All through the day I was going in and out of pockets of mist: Carnoustie on the coast was clear, whilst Forfar was murky all day. As I came through what is left of the pine forest on Carrot, after the massive harvesting which has all but cleared one side of the road, my eye was caught by the shafts of sunlight streaming through the branches. Very Tapiola. "Now that will be a challenge to capture", I thought....

Good news is my better camera is ready to collect after being away for repair a second time - hope they've finally sorted out the problem. Smiley Bad new is I've got a cold so I haven't been to collect it yet as I won't be going out taking pix at the moment. Sad Your shot reminded me of a couple I took at Clent in December 2004 Ron, here's one of them:

I needed a slightly wider trunk to hide the sun more. Here's another from the same visit which I quite like - all those drops of water are condensed out of the air, not rain drops:

Thank you both, Ron and Andy for sharing those beautiful pictures. The wild, wild (actually, quite nicely cultivated) wood is one of my favourite haunts.

I stumped off to bed last night as a d-e-e-p-l-y  peed off Mort. My wretched server had thrown yet another hissy fit and wouldn`t let me access the net. Phoning was a waste of time, all I got was message basically saying "We know there`s a problem. Tough". I couldn`t say "Congrats" to Ollie or nuffink Angry Angry

All resolved by this morning so,
