There seem to be rather more cat people than dog people around here I've noticed.  I like other people's cats but wouldn't have one myself because I love the wild birds and feed them.

Just had a lovely lunch out with my best mate so very happy at the moment!  Glad to see everyone else is so cheerful as well.  Grin

I feed birds outside, though now with bird flue it is dangerous I suppose. I like this one

In Canada robins were different than that one. They were big.

I used to have two griffon bruxellois dogs, one rough hair like this one, the other smooth.

They were wonderful!

Oh how gorgeous!!! I love all dogs.  Personally I  have always preferred the squashed-face varieties rather than the pointy-nosed ones.  I find them more trustworthy.  I've trained a lot of dogs in my life and I'd rather turn my back on two Rottweilers, than one Dobermann.  A friend of mine has just bought a bulldog puppy called Florence and I'm really jealous.  They are so fabulous!  Smiley

Ho Milly,

Here is the smooth version ! ( I don't have pictures of my dogs on computer, I had them too long ago!)
My parents use to bread bulldogs, gorgeous!

My student has a hunt dog. We are friends now. It is a lot of work and money to keep them. May be a smaller animal is easier, like a cat. I am afraid to get attached now. It so heart breaking if something happens to them.

I've melted here!  What a beautiful little face.

Bulldogs are very expensive and of course they don't live as long as other breeds but I've always adored them.

Ho Milly,

I got the rough dog ( name of Tess) for a pet.. she could get through the cat door when I was out at work. I was advised to show her - although I only bought her for a pet, she won everything we entered and loved it, Championship shows and everything, then she damaged her leg by jumping off a bed and I couldn't show her anymore. She had qualified for Crufts too.
The second was too timid although a beautiful dog... called Lucy..and so I didn't show her, it would have been cruel. Tess loved it !!

Round here there are a lot of goldfinches:

In the late afternoon they all sing to each other very high up in the trees; it's wonderful, would make anyone happy. In fact I think I'll go out now and listen.
