My wife got a valentines card from the dog we sponsor via the Dogs trust.  I think that's rather sweet (plus she had one from me as well, obviously)!  Grin

It is sweet in a way, but if they're going to send a card to everyone who sponsors a dog I'd have thought the sponsorship money could have been better spent.  Undecided

I am sure everybody on these boards know where the word "posh" comes from. If not, here it is "POSH": Portside Out, Starboa'd In. Looking at it just now, methinks where did the 'h' come in??

It's Portside Out, Starboard Home.

Except in America, where it's the other way around. No takers for "soph" though.  Undecided

I'm happy because I saw Pierre-Laurent Aimard playing Messiaen's Vingt régards last night. It's been said before, but the guy's an effing piano monster.

Interesting... I sponsor two dogs and didn't get a card (or 2 cards!), perhaps it is because I seem to have divided loyalties!!!!!!

Happy, happy, happy!!  Cheesy  Just reading little 'un's half-term school report and it says he is "a polite and well-mannered young man with a pleasant and cheerful personality.  He is an attentive and conscientious pupil who enjoys all aspects of his school work and can always be relied upon to give of his best.  He is an absolute pleasure to teach.  Keep up the good work."

Can't do much better than that. Literacy, numeracy, science and topic work all excellent. Phew!  What a relief.  Could it be that I'm actually for once in my life doing something right all on my own here   Let's hope it continues.  Looking back it was the same with the first two until they hit teenage years and then it became very hard work indeed.  They came through it drug-free and trouble-free thank God but it wasn't an easy time, being a constant battle of wills and desperate efforts to keep them from getting in with the wrong crowd.  We succeeded but I had my husband to help me then so had lots of support.  I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.   Pointless worrying about it now.   At the moment, all is well!  Smiley

Excellent, Milly! Perhaps you should think about celebrating this weekend, if there's nothing else on...  Wink Grin
