Gosh, how exciting! Maestro Butler has just dropped through the letterbox. Has he turned up in Snorbans yet, George?

Back home at last after two days of (sometimes rather fraught) travelling - the sun is shining, the weather is warm, the birds are singing in the garden, there's home-made fennel soup simmering on the stove, and then we're off to hear my teenage daughter's jazz band do a lunchtime gig.   Grin

Good to see a happy pw, but I did have to wiki fennel....

Fennel is used as a food plant by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species.

All this time pw and I didn't know you were a moth  Cheesy

Welcome home, PW.

Mmmm. Home made fennel soup. I'm on my way.

He has indeed, Mort, about half an hour ago courtesy of Tom the postman.

O Rio and Fixed Doubles will be critically interrogated and assessed for the correct degree of subjective mediation shortly to the accompaniment of a cup of coffee and an Eccles Cake.

Maestro Butler has just dropped through the letterbox.

So I expect he'll now be lying on...

Mmm! I think you're only ten minutes' drive away from me, PW. Be right over, and there'll be none left by the time George arrives.  Cheesy

By the way, I believe Maestro Butler responds well to mediation of any kind, not just the subjective variety.

I love fennel, raw in salads or cooked, but I've never had fennel soup. Must try that.

In a happy turnabout to the usual 'superstar withdraws from production' moan, some interesting news...Mr Bryn Terfel is stepping in for an indisposed colleague to appear as Falstaff at the Mayflower, Southampton, at the end of the month. He was originally only supposed to be doing half the run: http://www.mayflower.org.uk/event.asp?show=wnofs08. My ticket is safely booked!!
