O Rio and Fixed Doubles will be critically interrogated and assessed for the correct degree of subjective mediation shortly to the accompaniment of a cup of coffee and an Eccles Cake.
Coffee and an Eccles cake, George??! ... I think it has to be tea. There's a rule about that.

Sorry I didn't make it last night, incidentally (speaking of mediation). I was feeling disorganised/behind/poor, not a good combination, but I'll definitely be there on Tuesday.

Good to see a happy pw, but I did have to wiki fennel....

Fennel is used as a food plant by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species.

All this time pw and I didn't know you were a moth  Cheesy

The seeds are also helpful in remedying digestive upsets. Chew a couple to settle wind, or crush them and make tea with them.

Brilliant news!  My mum is an avid rugby fan and of course being Welsh, supports the best team in the world.  She was texting me up to date results all the way through whilst I was busy at home.

About time the Welsh were back where they belong at the very top of rugby.  Cheesy

I got back from my Rutter Requiem concert about half an hour ago. It was in the first half and it was the only thing that asked for a first clarinet, so I decided not to stay to listen to the second half. I was a bit more nervous than usual - even though it's not difficult to play - because it was so hushed in that church and the instrument had made a squeak in the afternoon rehearsal. Anyway, it all went well and I was given £10 for my trouble! So I'm going to join some of the others from the concert in the pub a little later. That £10 is going to come in handy.  Tongue

Just finished watching the Wales v France game, very glad that Wales have won, they've been the best team throughout the 6 Nations. Such a turn around from a few years ago when they were absolutely crap.

England looked fairly good against Ireland though their best performance was against the French.

Haven't seen Italy-Scotland.

It's been an interesting competition.

Actually, no more than a couple of minutes' walk - so I'm sorry I couldn't be there.  Hope it went OK, and you got a decent turnout on what has become a pretty foul night.

At every one of these [classical] concerts in England you will find rows of weary people who are there, not because they really like classical music, but because they think they ought to like it. (Shaw, Don Juan in Hell)

Despite the foul night, we didnt have a to bad an audience. The concert went very well indeed PW. They liked the way the programme was planned and executed as well. I wonder if Mr Butler be able to compose a piece of music for us??  Huh

The combination of contemporary and Brazillian guitar muisc with brass band and a combo proved quite a good combination,. We are very satisfied with what happened this evening.
