Thanks, Mort and DB. It's St Paul's Church in Walkden, near Manchester. My sister and new brother-in-law live just around the corner.

He could be wearing a T shirt under the bib and tucker. It's the lack of specs I found different. Glad it went well.
(Just noticed the proud brother's response)

Reminds me, this story made me happy when I was visiting my mum recently. Suddenly she mentions the local stately home which did a line in civil weddings. A pair of guys wanted to have their civil partnership ceremony there, and the noble lord refused. Devon County Council took away his licence to hold any weddings in future, thereby losing him future income.
Mum saw the two young men on the local TV. "They seemed such nice lads" she said and completely agreed with the council. She's come a long way.

Ah; good to hear it went well tin. Much of an afterparty?
Also, started applying for positions on Friday (anything entry level with 'actuary'/'actuarial' in the title). Have unemployment-related stuff to do tomorrow, and on tuesday hopefully I'll see what I can do about getting a (hopefully student) loan to ease any movings that I might be doing.

Graduation is on 10 July - too far for Mr & Mrs Opi senior to travel these days, but am having to go through with the ridiculous dressing-up business as they want some pics. Congratulations, opi, and there is no such thing as ridiculous dressing up. There's not enough dressing up in this world as it is. (Cue for Cleo Laine singing My Big Shoes Go Nicker Nacker Knock from Sandy Wilson's Valmouth.)

My guess at the second one was hovering somewhere between Schumann and Faure but, yes, Chopin seems more plausible now that you mention it. Someone who knows about these things tells me it was Liszt: Au Lac de Wallenstadt.

this four-volume pile
Crikey! I'm expecting a four-volume pile of corrections from my examiners... Congratulations to sister_is_now and brother-in-law_is_now - looks like it was a lovely day! Both the above make me happy, but I'm also pleased because I've got wireless broadband set up at home for the first time. Working in the garden here I come!

Now why do I find Brendel's little whimperings so delightful but get high blood pressure at ________'s grunts of exertion and _________'s passionate nasal inhalations? Because you prefer piano recitals to tennis? PS Thanks, trj and bbm and everyone else! And special thanks to Jan for complimenting the bride!
