Huh - I could have sworn they were both more recent than that. Like I say - there's been a lot going on...

Our organic fruit and veg box has just arrived, and not only does it include broad beans (yum!) but also dates. Really huge ones, and they're delicious (sooo much better than the little fibrous ones you get at Christmas). NOM.

I'll post in here as something happened today which did amuse (and amaze) me but I did actually have a pretty bad day at school today (some nasty incidents re behaviour). I was writing words on the whiteboard to help the children who were making mini zigzag books retelling the Greek Myth about the Weaving Contest between Arachne and the Goddess Athena. At the end of the story, Athena turns Arachne into a spider. As I wrote the word spider on the board I noticed, right before my eyes, a tiny spider descending on a thread hanging down from the ceiling! Obviously one of Arachne's great great great etc grandchildren! The children were quite impressed and after catching and admiring her they put her in our garden.

I do so love coincidences. Smiley

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

Well, it never rains but it pours...

Things have started on the baby front: we're about 8 hours in, have already had a trip to the hospital for an examination and all is going well so far < fingers crossed >. Do forgive any radio silence over the next couple of weeks!

All the very best to Mrs. trj and yourself.  A relaxed, happy, pain-free delivery has been ordered from Millyland and a pink candle lit to send great vibes.  Kiss

By the time you read this, I hope there will be a different type of 'Push' required....

Very best wishes for what is a truly amazing moment of one's life.  (That's to you, trj, and also to each member of your family!)

I remem ber when my son, Carl, was born. My ex-wife did'nt think be a good idea for me to be at the birth. She was probably right! At just after 6 am, I had 2 hospitals ringing me up. The one from my ex's ward and the one I worked at to!! I was in mental health niursing at the time. Not often you get 2 hospitals ringing you!!

Wonderful news, Tim. She's beautiful. A warm, warm welcome to Miriam. She's a lucky little girl.
