Not my garden, I'm afraid, but one just down the road at Pitmuies, between Arbroath and Forfar: spent a couple of hours there today. Can't resist just one more for now....

When in doubt, wash.

Hawthorn always raises my spirits. It's definitely out in April this year.

I have a hawthorn just beginning to flower - very pretty. Looking forward to my Buddliea Davidii Lochinch flowering in the summer. This isn't mine but it's just like it:

Smells lovely and always covered in butterflies.

I love your photos too, Ron Dough.  Smiley

Merely corroborative detail, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative.

I drove over a bridge over the river Severn at Shrewsbury this afternoon. The river and its surroundings looked very beautiful in the sunny weather. That was the good news. But this was a toll bridge and I had to put in 10p to raise a barrier. The barrier had just gone up when a cyclist went past me and caused the barrier to go down. I had to pay again (10p!). But it was the cheek of the cyclist (a woman in her 50s by the look of it) that got me. I didn't know barriers were like that. Perhaps she didn't either.

This is the very bridge. The barriers are just off to the left.

Sounds to me as if she's been playing that game for years, Tony!

Here's an evening picture for the morning.....

Today is a happy day because the first swifts of the year have just arrived here and, long ago, I made it a point of honour always to be cheered by that whatever else was going on.

They're outside now flying low and screaming at each other. It's wonderful to see and hear them again. I suppose I ought to go and tell Bill Oddie.

There was a swift at Pitmuies yesterday too, GG, which I omitted to mention; strangely, though, the Carnoustie contingent have yet to put in an appearance.

I had a happy time yesterday afternoon, when I went to visit a Japanese garden....it was so beautiful, and the sun was shining on the coloured leaves and flowers. A spiritual experience.

I bought a lovely windchime for my own garden that is like a bronze plate with a gorgeous "gong" sound...

Happy day.   x Jan x

Well....a tigger's a wonderful thing!

Do you know what their tops and bottoms are made out of, perchance?

I like her cheeks and no undergarment of any kind there.

When I first read this, the picture wasn't there.  What with his Lordship's ballerinas, I had entirely the wrong sort of cheeks in mind.......

Thank you George, the concept of  doing something like this for a 'point of honour' has really made my day.

I always wanted to be a swift when I was younger.

It is a good day today. Everyone seems to be in a happy room. Pictures here are absolutely fantastic.
This is good for you. I love salads.

This is shrimp salad.

They are the best picturs in the world here, especially the ones taken by members. I love Ron Dough pictures. They are so beautiful. I did not know there are such interesting colours in nature.
