Goshdarn Mort! Is it possible that you are run down? (stress, etc. over the last 12 months or so) Perhaps a sabbatical on a tropical beach with companion of choice would be in order? I'm told Barbados is a very laid-back sort of place, if desperately poor.

Wanted to post this last night but managed to lock myself out of Photobucket. It's not really to do with sickness but Richard's rabbits reminded me of it - anyway, it might make Mort feel better. It means something like: -- 'My ass hurts.' -- 'You what?'

I have a cold. It's only a tiny little common cold, and normally I wouldn't let it bother me (nor even mention it). But I'm going to the Malcolm Arnold festival at the weekend and I don't know what I should do if I'm still coughing and sniffling I've taken so much vitamin C, I think I'm turning orange

I've taken so much vitamin C, I think I'm turning orange You're probably going to the toilet a lot, too? Not much point overdosing on vitamin C, as besides its health-giving properties it's a diuretic. Straight out the other end. Get well soon, anyway. I'm sure you'll be fine by the weekend!

Thanks, t-p & IP. It is indeed a cold. Or, worse, it's a cold that morphed into a sinus infection. It's been nagging at me for a week or so and I finally gave up and took the day off today. Chicken soup, tea, and lots of sleep. Maybe not so much with the whiskey just yet.
Ah to be back in the days when a glass of whiskey coupled with an our father was the first recourse in any particular situation.

Just to wish all of those who aren't feeling 100% a speedy recovery (I always fall behind with this sort of thread...)!

I felt totally gross yesterday. Really, really quite nauseous. Slightly less so today. BUT, a slightly more welcome (given that it's temporary) side-effect is insomnia: I've completed several books that I had only just almost finished before now.
I'd never quite realized just how taboo a topic the taking of psych medication is generally*, or how I might have not myself been very understanding of people taking it in the past.
And: feeling better today physically, a little.
(*indeed; my justification for making this post involved some specific compensation for this fact).

Generally, perhaps. Certainly not to me though and, I strongly suspect, also not to most of the assembled company here. I've never been depressed in a clinical sense but I've watched many dear friends suffer from something that medication has later practically made vanish. It's a complex business and not right for everyone but for the people it's right for it can be literally a life-saver; I wouldn't dream of turning my nose up at it.
