Looks like a jumping bean-the synergy between it and a pre-prandial marsupial is a thing of wonder as they ever so gradually synchronise.

I fear, before MabelJane's intervention, I felt I was quite drowning in a sea of haricots avec tomate concasse. A very singular feeling I must confess.
The East Croydon problem still perplexes me but perhaps I had best away to bed and hopefully not dream of it

Talking of sniffly colds, I'm not sure if the one I've got now is the same one I caught right at the beginning of the month, or whether it is the latest in a continuous sequence. Either way, it's really annoying. At the moment it is just sniffles and a bit of a cough, which is preferable to the two sore throat phases it's been through. Still, it's saving me money, because what I've been spending on lemon powders I've more than saved on singing lessons

Ruth, It is very annoying to get one cold after another. I hope you take a lot of that lemon (prefer lemon in my tea with honey) and get well soon. We have you up and running on this board in no time. The most important thing is to keep warm (which is not easy if you have cold).

That baby bilby still takes a long time to load even if it is small! Anyway, I have a headache so I might have a cup of tea and go to sleep (powernap) until it's time to cook.

Me too!! Is anyone well? A My 3 were all back at school today, feeling much better. 2 children in my class have appalling, barking coughs - no doubt we'll all be sharing this new bug soon.

There are young persons who relish a robust cough apparently as a way of declaring their personal space (if not marking their territory). Similarly behold the peripatetic coughers on public transport. I have one word for these people-in fact for the noble souls who endure them,
Echinacea.
It doesnt cure the symptoms so much as shore up the immune system to repel them or recover the quicker when you're on the mend-I suffer bad post-virals and this nips them in the bud. The cheapo edition from Holland and Barrett is as effective as the higher-priced `ones I find.Hang in there guys.

I'm not sure how many of my fellow HE teachers here will recognise this, but each year I'm disturbed by what I call the 'student' cough. It's very particular. Most pronounced in the morning, but too easily dismissed as the mere by-product of a surfeit of fags, drugs and booze the previous evening, it resembles whooping cough in sonic character, dry, raspy. I don't remember it from my own student days, but am swamped by it these days (and thankfully I don't mean that literally).
