I am glad you are better, brassbandmaestro. You had a big share in feeling bad this year.
People say that in many cases stress is a cause of many illnesses.

May be Jonathan's soar throat is a result of a stress.
These bank holiday should help to restore you back to health. It will get better soon.

Could be t-p, thanks for the concern!

New jobs are always stressful, even though I've not really been terribly busy in the new job yet (well, plus it's 40 miles to work in the morning so it's quite a long way)...

For Jonathan, some beautiful shells with their original owners still inside:

Has she peered at your tonsils with a torch, Jonathan? If you have white dots on your tonsils you need to seek treatment. When my eldest child's tonsils flare up they're the size of marbles and they meet in the middle - very nasty - extremely painful and he can't swallow. But so far they've never had the white dots which I'm told indicate infection, and they usually clear up without medication.

Well, apparently not MJ and she thinks I am on the mend (having said that, I don't really feel ill and haven't at all apart from the soreness in my throat!)  Cheesy

It may be of some interest... I was reliably informed by the viola player in my quartet up North , who was a consultant, that the only thing that helps control or even prevent a cold is zinc and vitamin c taken together... worth a try, I do !!
I think I had forgotten to take my daily dose of late with other things on my mind and was taken unawares when the cold thingy flew in!!

Indeed A, I take vitamin C and zinc every day and, since I started doing that, I have had less colds.

Throat is much, much better today which is good as I can eat properly again!! (nomnomnom)

I did that all winter and had hardly a sniffle. I gave it a rest when things started to get springy and of course caught a cold at once...  Roll Eyes

I found that Florida Pink grapefruit (discovered in Tescos and got hooked) work equally well, and are yummy (but they take a toll on the teeth - acid demineralization)

Maybe it is stress. Probably is when you've not much work or nothing at all.
