I heard that all her friends call her 'Alaska' and when she takes speed they laugh and ask her what is in her mind.  I suspect they wait a long time for a useful reply.

On the plus side, it would be nice to have a musician in the White House.

Hmmm. That's about as well as I can play the flute. Maybe I'd make a good vice-president too.

Didn't Bill Clinton play the saxophone?

He did, but his hero wasn't James Galway so he gets no points from me.

Margaret Thatcher may have been wicked, and she was certainly profoundly unimaginative,  but she wasn't stupid.

Or ignorant. It's not the stupidity, it's the wilfull ignorance that's truly scary with Palin.

Has anybody noticed Sarah Palin has a really distinctive accent? I had my back to the TV and heard "ner ne ner ner ner ne ner", and instantly knew who it was. McCain's voice is quite distinctive too. Whereas Obama just sounds like "standard American #1".

I'm sure that subliminal voice recognition plays a part in voting psychology  Undecided

I've also noticed that Palin uses the word "blessed" in every single speech!
